Dounia Project

The Dounia Project is committed to promote peace around the world and develop a global community free of cultural barriers through a youth global network of alternative educational programs.

We provide the space and the resources necessary to allow youth to enhance their talents and work collaboratively with their peers around the world on project-based learning activities.

We recognize that each young person has unique talents, learning styles and personalities. Our highly-qualified teachers and staff are committed to working within each student's comfort zone to ensure optimal social, emotional and educational results.

MISSION

The Dounia Project aims at creating a safe and nurturing space where students from different urban areas around the world can complete their homework and participate in a set of extracurricular activities during non-school hours, which will allow them to develop the necessary skills to compete in an increasingly globalized world. The overall goal of this initiative is to create a global network of programs where young people can communicate with each other and find ways to make their world a better place.

WHO WE ARE

The Dounia Project was envisioned and created in 2009 by four professionals with diverse backgrounds and a wide array of skills and knowledge . They met while pursuing their master’s degree in International Affairs at the New School in New York City. They share a passion for social global justice and believe that innovative education will lead to the reduction of global socio-economical inequalities and the promotion of peace and tolerance. These founders are the current Board of Directors of the Dounia Project and contribute their experiences toward the execution of the organization’s mission.
